Health Facilities Inspectors conduct inspections of health care facilities and services such as hospitals, skilled nursing facilities, inmate medical care in prisons and transitional! living facilities, intermediate care facilities, home health agencies, health care referral agencies, community triage centers, facilities for refractive laser surgery, ambulatory surgical centers, facilities for treatment of irreversible renal disease, medical laboratories, independent physician offices, rural health clinics, hospices, comprehensive outpatient rehabilitative facilities, outpatient physical therapy facilities, adult day care and group care facilities, alcohol and drug abuse treatment centers and half-wayhouses, obstetrical centers, independent centers for emergency medical care, rehabilitation clinics, occupational and physical therapists, and other facilities and practitioners as directed. This position is located in the Health Division Rapid Response Team (RRT) in Las Vegas. The candidate selected for this position will conduct complaint investigations of health care facilities and services. Example areas for investigation include health care services; p! olicies and procedures regarding admission, discharge and resi! dent rights; life safety code compliance.

Conduct investigations of assigned facilities independently or as part of a multi-disciplinary or multi-agency team through review of records, interviews, and observations to evaluate compliance with Federal and/or State laws and regulations pertaining to licensure, permitting, certification, Medicare and/or Medicaid. As a Health Division employee, incumbents are expected to be available for call-back during public health incidents and/or emergencies to perform duties specific to this position or to perform other duties as requested associated with a response role. This may entail working a non-traditional work schedule or at another duty station during the incident and/or emergency. NOTE: Per NV State Legislature, State of Nevada Classified employees are subject to a mandatory unpaid furlough requirement of 48 hours per year (part-time prorated) through June 30, 2013.

OUNCED CLOSING DATE BASED ON VOLUME OF APPLICATIONS RECEIVED. ** To see full Class Specifications visit: To Qualify: In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements: Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications) Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in public health, health care or business administration, the medical or biological sciences, criminal justice, or a specialty field identified for the specific recruitment such as dietetics, facilities construction and maintenance, finance or accounting, medical technology, social work or social science, and two years of professional experience as an inspector or surveyor in a health-related accrediting organization or in a state or federal regulatory compliance program which involved the inspection, licensing, or complaint investigation of health care or child care facilities to determine compliance with state or federal laws and regulations; OR bachelor's degree in one of the above ! disciplines and two years of professional health administration experie! nce, including supervisory, administrative, inspection or regulatory responsibilities; OR two years of professional experience in the specialty area related to ; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience as described above; OR one year of experience as a Health Facilities Inspector I or Child Care Facilities Surveyor in Nevada State service. Special Requirements A State of Nevada/FBI background check will be required of the selected applicant. A valid driver's license or evidence of equivalent mobility is required at the time of application and as a condition of continuing employment.
