As the PACU and Pre-Op RN Manager you will receive Direction from the RN Clinical Director and will work collaboratively with Southwest Surgical Center Administrator/Medical Director, Southwest Surgical Center Anesthesia Lead, surgeons, surgery center staff and primary care teams. The OR RN Manager gives direction to operating room staff for day to day management of patient flow and patient care services. Will support the overall vision of positive patient experience by achieving a positive balance of healthcare, cost outcomes and patient satisfaction. Facilitates excellent customer satisfaction while achieving department specific financial goals. Support the Southwest Surgical Centers teams by providing leadership and promoting collaboration with internal and external team members. Ensures standards of care are implemented in ass! ociation with compliance to all state and federal regulations,! standards of practice and SMA Southwest Surgical Center policies and procedures. Primary Responsibilities:

In conjunction with other members of the management team, you will be responsible for the interview, selection, orientation, development, evaluation, discipline and competency of operating room staff. Assures appropriate staff ratios and coordination of staff assignments to ensure immediate availability of staff for proper care and quality of patient care services
Ensures staff ability to identify significant, real or potential surgical care concerns related to anesthesia, supplies or environment of care for patients and all members of the surgical team. Encourages and ensures ongoing education and adherence to protocols and procedures.
Liaison, with effective communication skills and tact to facilitate/coordinate communication between patients, family members, physicians and staff members as necessary.
Assists in ordering of supplies and equipmen! t
In conjunction with management team, conducts ongoing evaluations of staffing patterns to promote maximum level of utilization of staff and surgical case scheduling
Participates in the development of policies and procedures; coordinates staff training as needed or requested
Accountable for on-going training of operating room staff for Southwest Surgical Center competency and compliance programs
Participates in record keeping and reporting as required by management and regulations to include hospital transfer, sentinel events, patient incidents and patient complaints
Coaching and facilitating, skilled at obtaining consensus; promoting participative behavior and fostering collaboration and communication within and throughout all areas of the surgical center. Knowledge of human resource management and regulations. Ongoing regular staff meetings with effective communication.
Good understanding of quality control and performance improvement plans. Budge! t and cost containment, ordering and coordinating of supplies.
Part! icipation and reporting of monthly audits as required by leadership and regulatory standards.
Other duties that may be assigned by Southwest Surgical Center management

Qualifications:
5+ years of critical care, PACU and/or Pre-OP experience required.
2+ years of supervisor or management experience with performance management functions and overseeing staff in direct patient care roles.
1+ year working in managed care surgical environmental (pre-op/OR/PACU).
BLS/ACLS required and willing to obtain PALS upon hire.
Ambulatory surgery center environment, knowledge of state and federal regulations; AAAHC, CMS, SGNA, managed care services, environment of care and others agencies as indicated.
Strong organizational and leadership skills, excellent communication skills, both written and verbal with ability to effectively interact with patients, physicians, and all levels of staff.
Strong critical thinking skills
Ability to work in ! fast paced environment.
