Mintz’s real estate practice represents domestic and international clients in sophisticated, large-scale real estate acquisition, disposition, joint venture, development, financing, and leasing transactions. Our team represents Fortune 50 to 500 companies, landlords and tenants, and corporate, institutional, and individual owners and developers of office, retail, and other commercial projects across the country. Responsibilities
We are seeking an associate with at least four years of experience to join our Real Estate practice in Los Angeles. The preferred candidate is a member of the California Bar with a minimum of four years of experience in broad-based transactional commercial real estate including experience with financing, leasing and acquisition and disposition transactions, with a demonstrated ability to provide efficient legal service both independently and as part of a team. Candidates for this position must be willing to quickly integrate into our robust national real estate practice, committed to providing the highest quality of client service in support of a broad range of complicated transactions, and dedicated to professional development consistent with this partnership track position. Strong academic credentials, excellent critical reasoning skills, and the ability to effectively communicate complex legal concepts are required.
Collaboration with team members is an important component of any role at Mintz. Therefore, the firm encourages working from the office approximately 60% of the time in accordance with the firm’s published guidelines.
Qualifications
- Graduated with a JD or LLM from an ABA accredited law school
- Admitted to or eligible for admission to the California Bar
- A minimum of three years of experience representing sophisticated owners and operators of commercial real estate as borrower, buyer or seller, and landlord
- Familiarity with the full life-cycle of a transaction and ability to review and comment on loan documents, leases and purchase agreements
- Excellent written/verbal communication skills as this position requires immediate partner and client contact
- A high level of professionalism in working and engaging with demanding clients and sophisticated investors
- Ability to balance and prioritize multiple competing priorities and responsibilities, be highly organized and exercise extreme attention to detail
- Ability to collaborate and work effectively in team settings
