You also know the exhilaration a patient has when they overcome their difficulties and learn to communicate freely. In the Air Force, your patients will range from children of Airmen with development issues to Airmen recovering from injury. And since you won't be running a practice and wrangling with insurance companies, you'll have more time to focus on patients and solve their problems.CARE DESCRIPTION - Provide education, training, clinical support and program management - Speech-language pathologists perform duties in the medical setting for patients with speech, language, feeding and swallowing disorders - Speech-language pathologists treat those with biologic risks and developmental delays, head and neck cancers! , brain injuries and other trauma-related disorders - Opportun! ity to engage in research-based practice as well as training and supervision of technicians, students and resident physiciansFacilityThe Mike OCallaghan Medical Center is comprised of approximately 1400 personnel who are dedicated to providing preventive, emergency and acute care services for approximately 22,000 active-duty members and their dependents.The Center has begun adding new services and a larger capacity for care. The hospital was re-designated in this year's defense authorization bill, clearing it for expansion with a $50 million renovation planned for the next two fiscal years.The biggest benefit to our patients in the local area is that they can expect a higher level of access to care, additional services and an expanded scope of specialty care.
As a Minimum The Position Requires: - A Masters or Doctoral degree in communication disorders or speech pathology from a speech pathology program acceptable to the USAF Surgeon General and accredited by the !
