Due to exponential growth St. David's is seeking NICU Nurses in Austin, TX.

Work Environment/Department
St. ! David's Medical Center has a 65 bed level III NICU, the largest level III NICU in Central Texas. In addition to conventional ventilation, we have oscillator, high frequency and nitric oxide capabilities. We care for all infants requiring intensive care including extremely premature infants and all surgical cases (except major open-heart surgery). We use a body cooling system that induces hypothermia to reduce brain damage. We have the only cerebral function monitoring system in the city . We have an active developmental team including SLPs, OTs, PTs, and staff dietitians. The NICU also includes a satellite pharmacy with specialized pharmacists and techs. Our transport team is available 24/7 for any hospital requesting a transfer to our unit. The all RN staff are NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certified and many are NCC (National Certification Credentialing) certified in their area of specialty. There is a Neonatologist in house 24/7.

Must be able to demonstra! te understanding of HCA's and St. David's 'Patients First' saf! ety initiative by strict compliance to all safety protocols and procedures.
Establishes priorities and makes independent decisions of a complex nature. Interfaces directly with administration, physicians, public, staff, and all members of the health care team. Represents unit and administration. Regular and predictable attendance is required.

Education/Experience:Required:
Graduate from an accredited school of nursing. Minimum of three years RN experience in a level III NICU to qualify for the $10,000 + $7,500 relocation. Other positions and sign on available for those who may not qualify for the $10k
