The physician will take into consideration all information including lay and/or medical evidence, statements of the claimant, claim file review, and any competent evidence that the claimant has a current disability, or persistent or recurring symptoms of disability that might be associated with the claimant's military service. When required, the physician may provide consultation throughout the VASNHCS.Relocation/Recruitment incentive MAY be authorized for this positionRelocation expenses will not be reimbursedThis position is covered by the bargaining unitWork Schedule: Full-Time

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED: Citizenship: Citizen of the United States (Non-citizens may be appointed only if it is not possible to recruit qualified citizens)Licensure and Registration: Current, full and unrestricted license to practice medicine or surgery in a State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States, or in the District of Columbia. The physician must maintain current registration in the State of licensure if this is a requirement for continuing active, current licensure. Must be licensed as MD or DO for this position. In some cases, these may be substituted for experience and education.English Language Proficiency: Must be proficient in spoken and written English as required by 38 U.S.C. 7402(d) and 7407(d)Physical Standards: Applicants must meet physical standards for the position. A physical examination! prior to placement is required. This is a designated drug testing position. After appointment, you will be subject to random testing for illegal drug use. You will need to successfully complete a background security investigation before you can be appointed into this position.Education: Degree of doctor of medicine or an equivalent degree resulting from a course of education in medicine or osteopathic medicine. The degree must have been obtained from one of the schools approved by the Secretary of Veterans Affairs for the year in which the course of study was completed.
