The physician will take into consideration all information including lay and/or medical evidence, statements of the claimant, claim file review, and any competent evidence that the claimant has a current disability, or persistent or recurring symptoms of disability that might be associated with the claimant's military service. When required, the physician may provide consultation throughout the VASNHCS.Relocation/Recruitment incentive MAY be authorized for this positionRelocation expenses will not be reimbursedThis position is covered by the bargaining unitWork Schedule: Full-Time

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED: Citizenship: Citizen of the United States (Non-citizens may be appointed only if it is not possible to recruit qualified citizens)Licensure and Registration: Current, full and unrestricted license to practice medicine or surgery in a State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States, or in the District of Columbia. The physician must maintain current registration in the State of licensure if this is a requirement for continuing active, current licensure. Must be licensed as MD or DO for this position. In some cases, these may be substituted for experience and education.English Language Proficiency: Must be proficient in spoken and written English as required by 38 U.S.C. 7402(d) and 7407(d)Physical Standards: Applicants must meet physical standards for the position. A physical examination! prior to placement is required. This is a designated drug testing position. After appointment, you will be subject to random testing for illegal drug use. You will need to successfully complete a background security investigation before you can be appointed into this position.Education: Degree of doctor of medicine or an equivalent degree resulting from a course of education in medicine or osteopathic medicine.
