  • There are at least 150-180 spinal surgeries that come out of this area every year, most of them going to Reno.
  • Call is 10 days a month of regular call, not spinal call.
  • Right now there is a Spine doc coming from Reno 2-4 times a month doing surgery.
  • No trauma spinal surgery.
  • There is 24/7Anesthesia and Radiology coverage and OR block time
  • This is not 100% spine and they will need to do some general orthopedics. Do not know how much exactly but about 70-80% spine, 20-30% general.
  • No Orthopedic Spine or Neurosurgeons in the community
  • One Pain Management doc that comes down from Twin Falls, ID twice a month.
  • 5 orthopedists in town right now, 2 with active hospital privileges. The others are doing clinical work or using a surgery center but nobody is doing spine.

Please note that for this position I can accept BOTH Orthopedic Spine OR Neurological Spine Candidates as we are considering candidates from both sides of the isle simultaneously for the same search. (These are NOT two different searches). As you ! may know, many, if not most, of the range procedures that these two spe! cialists do are the same (as far as spine procedures goes) so that is why we have opened this up to Neurosurgery. Note that there is no Orthopedic Spine or Neurosurgery Spine physician in Spring Creek now. Everything else is the same on the job write up for NS as it is for OS as far as call, compensation model, etc.

Please note that we are NOT looking for a Neurosurgeon who wants to do brain, aneurysms, tumors, gamma knife, arm, hand and other extremities and so forth. If you have a candidate that wants to do this, they are not going to be a fit for us here. In considering a Neurosurgeon they have to be a candidate who only wants to do Cervical and Lumbar Spinal work, AND, the same procedures shared with Orthopedists.(Anterior Cervical Dis
