English Language Proficiency required DUTIES:
The
incumbent serves as a primary care physician working at a Community Based
Outpatient Clinic providing a full range of primary care provider services
emphasizing quality, timeliness, and the advancement of the VA mission. Duties include, but are not limited to, diagnosis
and treatment of acute and chronic illness, specialty referrals, care
coordination between service lines, and communication with patients and/or
their appropriate surrogates regarding findings and management plans. In
addition, the incumbent will also provide service to patients on other
providersÂ' panels as needed to provide continuity of care when the other
providers are absent.
The Physician will further support the VA mission
thru participation in applicable VA national, VISN, and local quality and
process improvement initiative! s. This includes, but is not limited to,
Performance Measures & Monitors, and Systems Redesign/Advanced Clinical
Access. The incumbent will work with supervisory and front line staff in
his/her own and other service lines to foster and improve the operation of the
CBOC.
Must Demonstrate competence in providing comprehensive primary care to adult patients.
WORK SCHEDULE: Monday through Friday; 8:00am -
4:00pm
Relocation Expenses : Relocation expenses are not authorized for this position.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
BASIC REQUIREMENTS:
a. Citizenship. Citizen
of the United States. (Non-citizens may be appointed when it is not possible to
recruit qualified citizens).

b. Education. Degree
of doctor of medicine or an equivalent degree resulting from a course of
education in medicine or osteopathic medicine. The degree must have been
obtained from one of the schools approved by ! the Secretary of Veterans Affairs
for the year in which the course ! of study was completed. Approved schools

are:
(1) Schools of
medicine holding regular institutional membership in the Association of
American Medical Colleges for the year in which the degree was granted.

(2) Schools of
osteopathic medicine approved by the American Osteopathic Association for the
year in which the degree was granted.

(3) Schools
(including foreign schools) accepted by the licensing body of a State,
Territory, or Commonwealth (i.e. Puerto Rico), or in the District of Columbia
as qualifying for full or unrestricted license.

(4) For
residents, graduation from an approved medical school as described above is
required.

c. Licensure
and Registration. Must have a current, full, and
unrestricted license to practice medicine or surgery in a State, Territory, or
Commonwealth of the United States, or in the District of Columbia. Must be
board-certified or board ! eligible in medicine or surgery. If board-eligible,
must become board certified within one year of being hired.

d. English Language Proficiency. Must be proficient in spoken and written English as required
by 38 U.S.C. 7402(d) and 7407(d).

e. Physical Standards. Must pass a pre-employment physical examination.

Salary is commensurate
with Education and Experience.

Probation: Subject to probationary period of two (2) years.
