The University of Nevada School of Medicine Integrated Clinical Services, Inc. is currently accepting applications for a Medical Assistant/Surgery Sche! duler Position for the Division of Colon Rectal Surgery.
The main responsibilities are to assist the professional healthcare provider with the administration of direct and indirect patient care. This position will perform basic medical assisting procedures necessary in the examination and treatment of patients under the direction of physician. Room patients, chart detail, patient education. Must be familiar with OSHA and HIPAA standards.
The individual will be responsible for scheduling surgeries and reschedules as needed, in a professional and business like manner. Schedule patients appointments resulting from incoming calls and/or faxes. Obtaining prior authorizations for office visits with specialists and procedures. Communicates with other insurance companies and medical facilities to schedule patients for necessary testing. Assist in general office duties as needed.
Requirements :
High school diploma or equivalent. Medical Assistan! t Certification/Diploma or five (5) years related experience. ! One (1) year of experience preferred. This position requires excellent customer and patient service skills, ability to multi-task, and the ability to work in high pressure environment. Requires knowledge of medical terminology, OSHA and HIPAA. Requires good organizational skills and attention to detail. Requires current CPR certification.
