Hospitalist - Physician - (Hospital Medicine) Locum Tenens
StartDate: ASAP Available Shifts: 24 Hour/Day
Hospitalist needed in Nevada for 24 hour coverage working 7 days on and days off on an ongoing basis. The ideal Hospitalist for this position will be comfortable and proficient with ventilator management, intubations, ICU patient management, and central lines. The Hospitalist will round in the morning until all patients are seen and then remain wi! thin 20 minutes of the hospital. There are typically 10-12 pat! ients per day and very little call. Providers are currently only called 2 to 3 times per week and it is all handled over the phone. Please contact StaffCare for additional details.
A hospitalist (locum tenens) is a physician that is generally Internal Medicine residency trained but can be from Family Medicine or other sub-specialty programs. They specialize in the care of patients who have been admitted into a hospital. These general medicine professionals perform a variety of roles in the hospital and, accordingly, must be familiar with the entirety of human physiology and a wide range of illnesses and medical conditions. Hospitalists complete residencies in internal medicine, much like primary care physicians. When patients arrive to the hospital, a hospitalist will take care of them, prescribing treatment as needed, before referring them to a specialist or discharging them from the facility.
