Provide support to surgeons while preparing patients for operation, during operations and post-operation.
Selects and applies appropriate wound dressings.
Provide assistance is securing drainage systems to tissues.
Ensure clear visibility for the surgeon by using instruments such as retractors and sponges.
Assist in control of bleeding.
Closing surgery sites using sutures or staples and properly dres! sing wounds.
May collaborate with doctors and other s! urgical team members to ensure proper post-operative care of patients.
Performs scrub technician activities such as passing instruments, equipment and supplies using proper aseptic technique and safety precautions 100% of the time.
Handles specimens and cultures according to established departmental and health system practice.
