Charge RN - PACU Surgical Services

1. POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
A. Education: Associate's Degree or higher in nursing
B. Experience: Previous nursing experience preferred
C. Other Requirements: Nevada RN license. Certifications: BLS, ACLS and PALS
2. INTERACTION WITH OTHER DEPARTMENTS:
Interacts with all clinical departments of the hospital frequently.
3. DEGREE OF SUPERVISION REQUIRED for the Charge RN - PACU Surgical Services
Supervision during the day shift is moderate with supervisors arranging breaks and room assignments. Some supervision for difficult cases may be necessary until employee shows competency with that type of case. Minimal or no supervision is needed when employee has reached the level of participating in call and standby.
4. SPECIAL CONSIDERATION:
Exposed to unpleasant elements (accidents, injuries and illness)
5. AMERICAN DISABILITIES ACT:
A. Essential Functions:
Able to understand surgeries, instrumentation, and equipment needs for the care of patients in SDSU and PACU. Ability to complete paperwork and organize tasks in an efficient manner. Normal hearing and vision ability required.
B. Physical and Mental Demands for the Charge RN - PACU Surgical Services
Moderately heavy physical effort (lift/carry 50 lbs) Frequent prolonged standing/walking
Manual dexterity and mobility
C. Working Conditions:
May be exposed to infections and contagious diseases Regularly exposed to the risk of blood borne diseases
Exposed to hazardous anesthetic agents, body fluids and waste, harsh chemicals
D. General Education Development for the Charge RN - PACU Surgical Services
This position requires reasoning, mathematical, and language skills at the levels listed below.
