Associate
Administrator at our Summerlin Hospital Medical Center, Las Vegas,
NV , part
of the Valley Health System.
Over the past few
years, the hospital has expanded its services to include the
Children's Medical Center, providing advanced care for kids with the
only Pediatric ICU in the western suburbs of Las Vegas. Other
additions includ! e a newly expanded Emergency Department and Pediatric
ER, ! advanced cardiac services, an open-heart surgery program,
neonatal medicine and robotic surgery services. Summerlin
Hospital Medical Center recently completed the largest expansion
project in the hospital's history. The 174-bed patient tower opened
in December 2009, bringing the hospital's total bed capacity 455, as
well as adding additional capacity for existing and new

Position
Summary:
The selected
candidate will provide day-to-day operations for ancillary or
assigned departments. He/she will implement strategy of CEO and COO
and will manage assigned departments efficiently and effectively to
maximize quality of services and profits of the hospital. The
selected candidate may rotate among UHS facilities on a periodic
basis in order to enhance exposure to a variety of services,
programs, and management styles.
Re! quirements
Position Requirements
include:
Knowledge: Knowledge of the financial implications of
decisions including budgeting and forecasting for a limited number of
departments and/or projects is required.
Skills: Must be detail oriented and
able to focus on nuances of multiple hospital operations. Effective
communication skills with diverse groups, including physicians,
managers, and employees is required.
Education: Bachelor’s degree
required, Master’s degree preferred (MBA, MHA or related
program).
Work
experience: Two to three years of hospital management experience at a mid
or senior level (i.e. Department Director, Manager).
