Job Title: Certified OR Tech - Surgery - Full time evenings, wkends rotate * Job Number: 02270-2980 Work Location United States-Nevada-Las Vegas-MountainView Hospital Schedule Full-time DescriptionPOSITION SUMMARY (includes, but is not limited to): The Certified Surgical Technologist functions under the supervision of a Registered Nurse and performs delegated functions. Assumes responsibility to assist the surgeon by preparing and handling instruments, supplies, and equipment to maintain an aseptic environment through specific techniques and practices. He/she adheres to policy and procedures, observes Universal Precautions and is responsible for meeting the Standards of Care. Patient age may be from neonate to geriatric.
Completes a competency skills checklist within 90 days of employment. QualificationsEducation: Graduate from high school or equivalent program. Graduate of an accredited school of surgical technology. Current Basic Cardiac Life Support.
License: Current certification by the Liaison Council of Certification of the Association of Surgical Technologist required. Current certification through NCCT upon hire/transfer is acceptable; however, new hire/transfer employee must convert to certification by the Liaison Council of Certification of the Association of Surgical Technologist within 90 days of hire/transfer at the employee's own expense. Experience: Minimum 1 year in a health care setting. GI lab experience preferred.
