The Carson Tahoe Cancer Center, located on the campus of Carson Tahoe Health in Carson City, Nevada, is a comprehensive, free standing center located on the campus of the beautiful Carson Tahoe Regional Medica! l Center. The Cancer Center houses full time oncology practices in medical oncology and radiation oncology. We have the Ambulatory Infusion Center with highly skilled nurses many of which are certified by the Oncology Nursing Society, The infusion center pharmacy is located in our center. This allows the pharmacist and nurses to work closely together to provide chemotherapeutic and supportive therapies.
We have a nationally recognized Cancer Resource Center where staff works with patients, family and caregivers to provide navigation, educational resources, peer group support and financial assistance. We are very fortunate here to have the Merriner cottages, 15 ''home away from home" cottages to provide temporary housing during treatment for patients for whom the daily commute for treatment would be a major barrier to needed ca re. This is a great benefit it as we are located in a small town with a very large, rural service territory.
Our cancer center is a! ccredited with commendation by the American College of Surgeon! s Commission on Cancer.
MANAGER, CANCER CENTER
This full time position will coordinate the development, implementation, evaluation, certification, and delivery of cancer services. Will provide expertise in cancer service delivery, that includes leadership skills, community collaboration, partnership development, comprehensive planning processes, developing implementation strategies, implementing quality assurance measures, and budgetary control. Current Nevada RN license required. Bachelor’s degree in Business or related clinical area required/advanced degree preferred. Equivalent experience in cancer services field will substitute for education requirement. A minimum five (5) years of management experience is required. Must have a working knowledge of ACoS for Oncology Services Accreditation and Cancer statistics, interpretation. Must possess an understanding of Medical Oncology, Radiation Oncology, Oncology Nursing, Oncology Social Work, Cancer Registr! y data collection, interpretation, and reporting. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, computer skills, and the ability to supervise multiple disciplines. Current valid Nevada driver’s license required.
