English Language Proficiency required. DUTIES:
The VA Southern Nevada Healthcare System is recruiting a full time physician in an outpatient/inpatient setting within the VA Southern Nevada Healthcare System with a responsibility for performing procedures in the area of Rheumatology. Duties include but are not limited to:

Performing initial histories and physical exams.
Write prescriptions for medications or other items per formulary.
Provide ongoing outpatient care for assigned patients as well as episodic patients.
Screen patients to determine further care.
Order diagnostic studies; such as laboratory tests and x-rays.
Carry out health promotions and disease prevention activities.
Initiate and expedite requests for consultations and scheduling of special tests and studies.
provide education and counseling to patients and families for preventative care, medical conditoiins and use of prescribe! d treatment and drugs.
Perform various procedures, tests, interpretation and/or management as approved in the clinical privileges.
Participate in protected Peer Review & pertinent peer chart review activities.
Coordinate and supervise the scope of practice of assigned mid-level and appropriate allied health practitioner staff to ensure their rights and practice goals are achieved and integrated expeditiously to benefit patient care.
Supporting the medical preoperative evaluation clinic.

Degree of doctor of medicine or an equivalent degree resulting from a course of education in medicine or osteopathic medicine.

Current, full and unrestricted license to practice medicine or surgery in a State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States, or in the District of Columbia.

Board Certification Cardiologist or Residency/Fellowship in Cardiology required.
