Under the direction of the Surgical Services Manager, the Bariatric Service Line Coordinator shares resp! onsibility for administering all aspects of the bariatric program. Work with customers to include: inpatients, outpatients, physicians, allied health professionals and the community through program development, planning, organizing, implementation, assessment, and patient education for the Bariatric Service Line. Serve as the liaison between the hospital and physician practices. Collaborate with the Bariatric Medical Director on growth and quality initiatives. Organize patient seminars, outreach initiatives, and post-surgical patient support groups. The Bariatric Service Line Coordinator ensures compliance with the American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery (ASMBS) Bariatric Center of Excellence (COE) hospital requirements and subsequent COE designation, American College of Surgeons (ACS), American Society of Bariatric Surgery (ASBS), Centers of Medicare and Medicaid LCD requirements and conditions of participation, TJC standards and all other regulatory requireme! nts and standards that may be required by local, state, and fe! deral agencies. Establish productive working relationships with businesses and/or insurance companies to provide knowledge regarding bariatric surgery, and establish possible contracts and/or Centers of Excellence designations. Responsible for maintaining required manuals and current policies and procedures as well as identifying and implementing performance improvement initiatives. Assists in the coordination of appointments and other operational processes related to the bariatric program. Facilitate/lead the hospital bariatric program steering committee. Participate in interdepartmental meetings and process teams to improve patient care and outcomes. Stay current with research and treatment options and outcomes.

Experience

Minimum - Five years acute care hospital experience with program development preferred.

Education

Minimum - Graduate of an accredited school of nursing. BA or BSN re! quired.

Preferred - Masters preferred

Licensure

RN = RN license from NV State Nursing Board.

CT CPRBLS = Basic Life Support CPR.
